The beautiful Glacier National Park inspired this piece. I grew up going to Glacier and adventuring. I've taken many trips up Going-to-the-Sun Road. I’ve driven, biked, and skied that road, and along the way, Bird Woman Falls cascades down the mountain. It is such a wonderful place to stop and take in the beauty. I feel as powerful and free as possibly a raven does when I’ve traveled the road. Ravens are highly intelligent and majestic, with an essence of female energy. I painted some of my favorite wildflowers that burst with color in the park at certain times of the year. Glacier Lilies, Paintbrush, Alpine Glacier Poppies, Pasque Flowers, Mariposa Lilies, Sub Alpine Spirea, Queen’s Cup, Jacob’s Ladder, and the Lewis Monkey Flower are pictured in this piece. I love standing back and taking in Bird Woman Goes to the Sun because it brings me back to my raven roots, and I feel like I can soar through anything life throws at me.
