This piece was inspired by floating on the Middle Fork of the Flathead.  My husband introduced white water rafting to my life.  It’s full of dull, quiet moments and rockin’ intense moments.  I love the ups and downs of floating.  I love the lessons of the river.  It’s like life; you never know what lies ahead.  Will it be a streak of steady calmness or rapids and adrenaline bursts of power?  The water is strong and mellow, much like this life journey.  I’ve painted the Middle Fork with blooms of my favorite berry, the Huckleberry, with a touch of Bear Grass and Paintbrush because I love the whole ride of life and all its ups and downs.  Without the intensity, we would never know the calm.
